Filmmaking Simplified is a great resource. You could be a beginner or an Oscar winning director, and this book could be of use to you while working on any film. It has plenty of links for specific situations, and Flax gives great advice on what can happen during such productions. The book has an easy to follow style that is Flax finding the perfect balance of confidence and humility when passing on his knowledge. I didn't understand the bizarre capitalization style of the book at first, but I came around to liking it once I realized its purpose (a way of highlighting field-terms). I could go on about how great this book is, but I'll just say that reading it won't make you a worse fillm maker, and will almost certainly help you become better in multiple ways.Product details

Wow! This small handbook is filled to the rafters with so much info and insight that it boggled my mind. I was expecting some simple guide on how to make a movie and what I got was an in depth guide to the fascinating (and often complex) world of filmmaking. Flax Glor lays it on the line - he doesn't kid around. Making a film is serious business and not for the faint of heart. His clear and erudite handbook is an invaluable blueprint for the independent filmmaker. Jammed-packed with first-hand experience, Flax explains the movie making process from idea inception to final film distribution. This "small" book is worth its weight in gold...and that could be your future Oscar!
A short and to the point reference that is a surprisingly comprehensive and insightful. I work in the film industry and have made a couple of my own indies. There's a lot of good advice here and the author makes topics that can feel daunting and complicated easy to understand. I wish I would have had when I first started out. The book is a good primer on all aspects of the filmmaking process, as well as a springboard to explore each individual topic more thoroughly.
This is a concise guidebook for both the beginning and the experienced filmmaker. Flax Glor offers the basics from screenplays to the finished production. He has done the work for you! He gives amazing resources of online, books and organizations to find the answers you might be looking for! I think this book should be required reading for every filmmaking class. Thank for all of your hard work. It comes through in your guidance and words of wisdom!
